So, I continue my winter work with my "adopt-a-horse" Kassie. She's pretty "green", meaning that she's inexperienced. She's young, 6 yrs old (a teenager in the horse world) and we just do
some walking around and "ground work" to get her used to things. She gets a little uneasy when she can't see her friends, because (in the horse world) other horses mean protection and being by yourself means danger. She needs to understand that I will protect her from "danger" and not to worry. She's not quite at that stage yet, and she demonstrated that to me by raising her head high, spinning around and bumping me to the ground. Then she galloped off to be with her friends! I need to think like a horse and learn to comunicate to her that I'm the leader and she can follow me! It's hard work earning respect.

comfy like an old shoe

Just came back from a "weekend away" with my hubby, celebrating our anniversary.
It's always nice to get away, see different scenery, share a nice meal and spend quality time with my best friend.
He asked me (as he always does) "do you still love me after all these years?".
Mind you, we've had our ups and downs, had dissagreements and dissapointments, tragedies and triumphs - but I always knew he would "be there" for me. Like best friends should be.
He looked at me and said "what are you thinking?" and I replied: "you are like an old shoe, you are very comforting for me."
I think he took that the wrong way (as men sometimes do) but what I meant is that when life is stressful and pulling you in many directions --to where you want to escape - you WANT to have that "old shoe" where you can retreat to and be comeforted, no matter what.
So, after all these years, I still need my "old shoe" in my life, and I think I'm gonna go give him a hug right now.
YOU go find YOUR best friend and give them a hug right now, too!

baby it's cold outside!

Brrrrr!! It's a cold one today! Those critters that spend their time outside don't waste much calories moving around. They huddle close and conserve energy. They share the heat!
I'm going to share my "heat", too!
I'm not going to make anyone move out of my way today, I'm just going to huddle! No working today, just sharing!
Today is the first day of the "new" year, and I've decided to make a difference today and every day in the lives of those around me.
I've made up my mind to look at life positively.
I want to BE the inspiration to others.

So, I want to encourage YOU to find your purpose. To share the heat!
I think that you are brilliant and amazing!
I want you to shine!
We all have the power within - let's let our "shine" out and share it with everyone!
