I've learned that I can't let my present status (unemployed) interfere with my positive attitude. When I'm feeling low or overwhelmed, I head to the barn and let the horses refresh my soul. Horses are angels, on loan from God. They are here to make us stronger, more patient and compassionate. We need to shut up and listen to them (patience) and hear what they are telling us. It isn't a complicated message, but you need to open your heart and let the message in.

The power of the horse comes from within.
From his heart.
And so does ours.
Let it shine. Capture the spirit of the horse within.
Horses lend us the wings we lack.

It's the first snow of the season! Everybody gripes, but I love the snow. It is so pretty to watch falling, the quietness of nature's beauty inspires me. I know it's not fun to drive in - but it is so pretty to watch freshly falling snow. Reminds me of when I was little and sledding with friends.

Well....... I started this blog in May (don't expect any followers! ha ha) but then got sidetracked. This has been QUITE the year! So much has happened, and my path-down-the-road-of-life has certainly become steeper and rockier.
I'm unemployed, as of January, and using my time to keep busy with other projects - mainly my writing and my drawing.
Right now I'm trying to set goals for myself - WHAT do I want to "leave behind" when I'm gone? If I were to die tomorrow, what would I be remembered for?
Would I have left an impression on anyone?
Would anyone miss me?

Goals are easy to set. Results are sometimes not easy to achieve.

what I've learned

I've learned that life's too short to dwell on trivial things. Laugh often! Love your neighbor! Take time to wonder at the little things life has to offer! Always wear a smile - it's contagious!
